When to start tummy time?

At what age is it good to start with tummy time ?

You're suppose to start right away but honestly... 90% of the tummy time we do is him on my chest and that totally counts as he still has to lift his head to see me and that's the ultimate goal really

Apparently you're supposed to start right away, but honestly I only did when I remembered. Babies sleep so much at first they're never awake for tummy time! Having them on your chest counts though and that's the only tummy time my daughter got the first couple weeks before she was awake for a long enough period to do it in the floor without just sleeping haha

You are supposed to start from day one. I alway do it with my little one on the change table after she has been changed. At the moment she is also very clingy so she spends a lot of time on my chest and that also counts too as she moves her head around to look at me.

same as everyone else here we started with only tummy time on chest then progressed to tummy time mat on the floor :-) bub is 7 weeks old today and we aim for minute 2 x 5 minute sessions a day now.... pretty much as long as it takes before he gets too frustrated/upset which midwives said was perfect

When we went for our two week check up the pediatrician asked if we had been doing tummy time and I was like "no am I supposed to" and he said yes
