Binkys and breastfeeding??

I heard binkys reduce the risk of SIDS,  is it okay if she is EBF I don't want her to get nipple confusion?

I think there was a new study that proved binkis help breastfeeding my daughter has had one since day one and is breastfed and never been confused

I was told to wait until breastfeeding is well established before introducing s binky or bottle. Typically a month after birth. If you're confident that you're established sooner than that, go ahead and try. I gave my daughter a binky for the first time when she was 3 days old just to see if she would take it and she did but only for a few mins then would rip it out of her mouth. I was told if you notice she's not breastfeeding as well after taking a binky then it's too soon and try offering it again later down the line. My girl is now 3 weeks and will very rarely take the binky, she would rather use me as one lol

I've EBF 3 babies and they've also used pacifiers. I've never had a problem. My babies don't use them every second of the day, but we use them when sad or falling asleep. It's always been fine. Maybe if your baby has a hard time breast-feeding or latching then you would want to put it on hold, but we've always been fine with them.

My son has been using his binkies since day one.   He also started out bottlefeeding.  He took 6 weeks to fully latch on.  Definately no nipple confusion with him.

My boy is 11 days, we use pacis, I pump into a bottle for him, and I give him the boob. No confusion so far.

My husband and I attended a breastfeeding class at our hospital a couple nights ago.  The lactation consultant teaching the class advised EBF until about 4 weeks.  That's no bottles, no binkies, just boob!  Of course, do what works best for you and your baby!

My daughter is 6months and she had a binki shortly after we got home from the hospital. She never had nipple confusion. But she is pretty picky on the binki she will take lol Mam have always been our go to since she liked them the best from the time we started
