D & C the right choice?

I found out I had a mis-miscarriage on November 18th, and have yet to have any cramping or signs that it's leaving my body. My husband and I are/were devastated. I was at about 6 weeks or so and my doctor says I should get a d&c. I'm terrified but my husband and I want to start trying again as soon as we can. I want to pass the miscarriage naturally but I don't want to wait any longer without any symptoms and am scared of having the d&c. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I decided not to have the D&C and took an oral medicine called cytotec instead, it made my body do the rest starting within a couple of hours, the doctor gave me some pain meds to take at home too, but it wasn't horrible just some minor cramping. I felt better foregoing the procedure  nd it's risks. You have options, make sure you get them all... it just depends on what you think is best for you

So sorry you have to go through this. I opted for the d&c after a missed mc at 9 weeks. The procedure was quick and painless with just a little cramping afterwards (less than a period) and very little bleeding. I got my period 4 weeks later and my husband and I were able to conceive again two months later. It's a personal choice, but I knew for me I couldn't deal with the physical toll on top of all the emotional distress I was going through. Plus I'm very impatient and I didn't want to wait for my body to do it's own thing since the doc said it could be weeks.

I had one at 10 weeks with the embryo not growing past 6+4. Was definitely the right choice for me. I wasn't willing to let it happen naturally because of the pain and trauma associated. Also, my hcg levels were still really high and dropping but not very quickly. It would have been weeks before it happened on it's own. Recovery was so fast! Got my period 29 days later and my next bfp on the cycle after that. So sorry you're going through this but all will be well soon. xo

Sometimes you need a d&c as your body won't fully pass naturally. I wouldn't leave it much longer due to chances of infection etc.

I had a d&c after a missed miscarriage in July. Heartbeat stopped at 8 weeks, but after 3 weeks my body would not react. I opted for the D&C just to have some closure, the wait was mentally devastating.
The d&c was easy and recovery painless... But that depends on how your body reacts to surgery.
Now I'm pregnant again.

So sorry for your loss. I had a D&C last year, I opted for it instead of miscarrying naturally. It was absolutely the right choice for me and I have no regrets. Mentally I believe it was easier on me, and physically it was very easy. Few cramps and very little bleeding after.

I had a D&C to help with my cycles. It wasn't a bad procedure and I was back to "normal" quickly. I had bleeding for several days after, but nothing too heavy. Cramping was mild to moderate, but pain meds helped that pass.
