tampons

For the past few months about a week or two before I get my period I get a yeast infection , I heard that tampons can cause some kind of infection so I was wondering if that was it. I went to the doctors but she said that it was probably just the weather and my tight clothes but I've been really taking care of myself I bought cotton underwear, I still wear tight jeans but I wear panty liners and change them often to keep me more clean but I still get yeast infections before my period is this normal ? What's going on ???
