Anyone with VBAC experience?

I had a traumatic emergency C-section with my first one. I labored for 30 hours and pushed for 5 with no success. Turned out the  cord was wrapped around her neck twice and around her belly once. I was pretty heavily drugged because of that process and when the drug finally got out of my system, with the drop of my hormone level and sleeplessness, I had postpartum depression, was on Zoloft for a year and a half. Darkest days in my life.

Anyways, with this one, I know it's not really in my control on how to deliver the baby. But I'm determined to avoid another c-section as much as I can. I have been eating healthy and working out almost everyday through the whole(almost) pregnancy. My doctor and the hospital support it too. But a lot of people think I'm crazy for wanting to do it or it's too dangerous. A lady even told me "don't bother"....Now I desperately need to hear other mom's success stories with VBAC. I need someone to tell me "I did it. you can too!"

Following cause I had a c-section 7 years ago and ill be 31 weeks in 2 days and I'm attempting a VBAC, and would love to hear others experience with it also.

My first csection was horrific. It was in the month of August back when I was 17. I labored for three days to only make it to 4 centimeters. They did an ultrasound and saw that my son wasn't breathing, soon after that his heart rate was almost unreadable. They broke my water, it was filled with meconium. I was rushed to the OR for emergency csection. My husband(my boyfriend at the time) stepped one foot in the room and the doctor cut me. I know because I felt it. The anesthesia hadn't kicked it yet. I started freaking out and they put me to sleep. I woke up in the recovery room in excruciating pain. My son spent a week in the nicu, at first they were surprised he was still alive and he would have a list of developmentally disabled problems. As for me my incision had to be reopened due to a broken blood vessel. They couldn't stitch me back up so it had to heal on its own. I was put on 6 months bed rest and had a wound care specialist come to my house every other day to pack my incision. My schhol work was being sent home but I couldn't do it because I was so high off of the pain medication. I took me about two years to overcome my depression from all of this. My son is now a healthy 9 yr old, never had any problems. I tried to vbac with my second but when my labor started she turned in a transverse position. I was so scared and upset but the doctors really took their time with me and everything went smoothly.

Now I'm trying for another vbac again. I get the same responses from people when I tell them that I want to vbac. I did a LOT of research and feel its something I can do. I 've been doing everything that will help prepare me for labor, religiously. If your doctor approves it and you feel comfortable/confident about it, I say go for it. I hope that everything works out for you and you get the type of birth that you want. 😊

My friend has 5 kids, her fourth was a c-section & her fifth was a vbac, she said she couldn't be happier with how it went! Good luck

My mother delivered two babies vaginally at separate times after a c section in the 90's. Why is it dangerous? If there's been advancements medically wouldn't it be safer now? Hmm.

My third child was a VBAC. It was by far the best and fastest labour and delivery of the three. I was scared and had many tell me it wasn't safe. It was very empowering and I'm planning on a VBAC with my fourth baby. Hoping it'll be quick and easy like the last.

I'll be trying! I've got 2 very close friends who had success and I'm praying that I do and that you do too! One thing that was key was no pain meds and staying at home as long as possible.

I am attempting a vba2c hopefully everything goes well and according to my plan. I labored with my second child and made it to 7 1/2 cm and my doctor got scared the I was going to rupture due to seeing a little bit of blood after my waters had been broken so we decided that the c-section was best. But this time I'm not accepting a c-section unless my life or my child's life is in jeopardy
