Overproducing??

Question

I alternate breast at every feeding because she is usually full and asleep after just one breast a feeding. My left never feels totally empty by her though, and I get more when I pump on that side too. My right feels emptied by her but also leaks almost all the time. Is there something I should be doing to help regulate my breasts? My daughter is 3 weeks old btw.

Your body will regulate the milk supply after a certain amount of time (12 weeks I think). Your baby will dictate how much milk your body needs to make :) I used to leak like crazy and get engorged. My baby is 3.5 months now and I rarely leak anymore and only get engorged if she sleeps through a feed.

Maybe try starting her on the right every time so it gets the memo. But I was like that. My left produced way more than my right. I think it's normal. There's a phrase like the stud and the dud.
