Introducing new foods

We've started introducing solids for the past couple weeks, first just oatmeal then a few veggies and fruit purees. I am not sure though if I'm spacing out introducing new foods far enough apart so we can watch for any possible food allergies. How have you all been introducing new foods? Do you wait a couple days or weeks to try a new food?
