If your baby shower is supposed to be a surprise, how are all these girls dressed up all nice?

From what I've seen posted here it seems like most(?) women are actually planning their own showers these days.

All details of my shower were a surprise except the date. I requested to know the date ahead of time so that way 1) I wouldn't make other plans LOL and 2) so I could look presentable since otherwise I'd show up in yoga pants and tshirt hahaha

Mine was a suprise and my husband took me out for a date that morning, so I was dressed nicely for that😊

Mine wasn't a surprise because the host knows that would fill me with dread. I am a planner and expect to know what is going on and when.

Showers don't have to be a surprise. Maybe the person who got them to the shower said they were going to a nice dinner so they dressed up?
