Frustrated!!

Me, my fiancé and our daughter live in a 1 bedroom apartment with SLUMLORDS. We pay $475 a month, and my fiancé makes $780 a week, I am trying to convince him to move& he's refusing. He says we "can't afford it" now I respect his wishes because I am a stay at home mom, but I hate it here. I want my own space. How can I convince him without seeming like a bitch?
