Mucus plug?

Question

Do you HAVE to lose your mucus plug before going into labor? I'm 39+2 and still have not lost mine. Should I give up all hope of going into labor until I lose it? FTM.

This is my 3rd baby and I have yet to see what my mucus plug actually looks like.. I'm 39 weeks and soooo ready to get things rolling here so I can hold my little girl!

For my first I lost it the night before I went into labour. My second I lost it 3 months and then again 2 months before I was due then again when they broke my water when I was in labour. I don't recall seeing it for my third and for this baby, I started losing parts of it starting this weekend and still no baby. My first two they were obviously mucus plus as they were maroon in colour and looked like a giant snot. But the first two that I lost early with my second and the few chunks that I lost with this baby so far were just in yellowish colour and legally look like a giant booger. Not sure if that makes a difference.

I never have unless it was during labor with 2 pregnancies and now I'm due 9-9 and still haven't lost it with my 3rd!

I never lost mine that I know of with either of my pregnancys but I also had both of mine at 35weeks so I don't know if that has anything to do with it...I'm almost 36 weeks now with my 3rd and haven't lost it yet

I didn't with my two past pregnancies until they broke my water after contractions started. And I am currently 39.5 and still haven't lost it again.

A lot of women lose it without noticing, so even if you don't think you've lost it, you might have!

Some women lose their plug all at once some others never lose it until labor that's what my OBG Told me
