At what point is swelling a problem?

My blood pressure is somewhat on the higher end but not enough for my doctor to be concerned with preeclampsia. Anyone my feet are so swollen today! It's the worst so far.. At what point is this a problem? I had an appt early this morning but just had the normal swelling so didn't mention it.. Now I can barely walk👎🏻 any advice on the topic??

I've dealt with some pretty extreme ankle leg and foot swelling since like 30 weeks I'd say. I'm 37 now and even just being up and out for an hour makes them extremely swollen. According to my doctor, as long as I'm not experiencing pain (like when the bottom of my foot is pressed on and I'm laying with my legs straight), and as long as when you push your fingers into your skin on the leg it doesn't leave an indentation that won't bounce back then you should be okay. It's never really reassuring to me bc the swelling is highly uncomfortable and shoes don't fit! With high BP and swelling more so in one foot/ leg than the other than it could be signs of a blood clot, but I would monitor your swelling and mention it next time. Maybe take pics. Soak your feet in hot water with Epsom salt and lavender oil. It's comforting and soothes, doesn't help for me with making the swelling go down, but it is very comforting in an uncomfortable situation. Hope this helps a little.
