Quick background- I have 2 kids, an 8 year old girl who was born at 37 weeks and a 9 year old boy born at 34 weeks. Im now 29 weeks pregnant with baby #3. My SO has a HUGE family (hes one of 40 or so cousins) so we decided itd be best to do a family baby shower and a friends one. The aunt who wants to throw it has chosen oct 9th, even after calling and asking our opinion which he and I asked to do it ANY of the 3 weekends before that as I will be 35 weeks along and we arent buying much before the shower since the family is so big and that leaves me precious little (if any if baby comes early) to prepare for baby.

The problem comes up as my 8 year old daughter figure skates competitively, and I realized that part of the mental block for that weekend was that she is supposed to be competing in the regional competition in dallas (we live in OKC) and her event is on the 9th.... Im not sure what to do, My daughter has been working hard all season for regionals, but I really dont want to move the shower back any further since theres a high probability he'll come early and we haven't even begun setting up or prepping for baby because his family is so large and we are finalizing our living arrangements (We don't live together currently, yes we're cutting it to the wire, i know)

What do I do? Im super grateful she wants to throw us a shower, but Im frustrated she seems unwilling to work with our situation and preferences, and these last few weeks, terribly anxiety has been my middle name- I want to have as much ready as possible Like yesterday...
