Can you tell your doctor what you need prescribed?

I haven't been ovulating for over a year. It's made me gain 40lbs+, gain anxiety, unable to conceive and periods that very in length 35+ days. My doctor put me on Clomid for a month which worked! I'm back to ME! My husband just deployed and I'm no longer TTC. I think Metoformin could help me, but I'm unsure if it's okay to ask the dr for this.

U can TALK, and ASK ur doctor if it's a good idea or a good reason. Telling doctors what u "need"to be on, doesn't do much.  They need all the info u can provide, they must asses ur personal situation, and give a proper diagnosis. If the diagnosis given, coincides with ur remedy,  I'm sure she will gladly do it..

Voted no because you can only talk and ask the doctor about it. They will prescribe what they think is right

Most drs are willing to try what you ask for but sometimes they are some pricks and don't like you asking for something that they didn't think of to begin with
