23 week belly pic ++ rant about my recent "roller coaster" of events
Soooo at 20 weeks we discover twins (that was my first ultrasound so SURPRISE!) Referred to a high risk doctor because they are believed to be mono/mono only to find out they are mono/di and we have TTTS (still stage 1) I am praying and not whining but rather venting where it may make better sense because not everyone gets it. Baby A is our recipient and Baby B is the donor. Almost every other ultrasound they struggle to find his bladder (which would make us stage 2 TTTS and eligible for the laser placenta surgery to separate the vessels and give them both a better chance of survival.) Catch, we live in Wisconsin and the only hospital that does the surgery here does not have the equipment to do the procedure due to me having an anterior placenta... So my MFM (maternal fetal medicine) doctor recommended us to Children's Hospital of Philadelphia - we would have to pay for flight and lodging and they are negotiating with insurance now ... Just incase we need to go. Baby A has 12-15 cm fluid and Baby B has maybe 1.4 cm 😕 due to this huge difference I am HUGE. Measuring 49 cm... Or essentially 49 weeks pregnant 😰😰😰 The pain is real, my hips feel like they are shattering - I can't sit up because B is "the stuck twin" and he's stuck directly in my right upper ribs. Everything is swelling. I can't sleep. The struggle is real. But they are hanging out for now... Next ultrasound is Tuesday so positive vibes!
