thoughts on a sprinkle for baby #2?

How do you guys feel about the "sprinkle" thing? We're having our second baby girl- our first will be 2yr 4mo then baby #2 is born...
My mom says no, it's rude - friends say it's ok...
I'm not sure what to do??

I am 22 weeks today with another girl my first will be 2 and almost 5 months old when this one will be born and I am having a baby-Q it's a bbq and a babyshower at the same time. In my opinion I think you should celebrate a new child even if it is the same gender that you had last time every baby is different and deserves to be celebrated its a new life being born no matter the gender

I believe showers of any kind for #2 are a little much, but you should definitely do what you're most comfortable with. If people don't like it they don't have to attend!

If they were different genders I'd say yes... But they're both little girls & so close in age. If you got rid of most of the stuff you had then I'd consider it, but if you still have it all I wouldn't do anything.

Its not rude to me u still want and need baby clothes and diapers. I a m on number 5 not sure what I'm having all my kids are spaced in age and I gave away all my baby stuff from my 4 year old I had a shower with each one and plan on having one with this one

My friend had 7 kids and had a baby shower for each one . I'm on baby #2 and having another shower . Every baby is different and you will need things for every child so I don't see the issue with having another shower . Everyone I know always has a new one for each baby .

We are doing a sprinkle for the same reason! Our first daughter will be closer to 4 when this baby girl is born and we have lots of the bigger things but we believe each baby should be celebrated! Especially since this is our rainbow! Now one is obligated to come or bring you a gift, just call it a celebration of this babies life and any gifts are a bonus :)

I don't know if I would call it "rude" necessarily. Anyone who feels that way can always opt out of attending. But most sprinkles I have been to were for second children of the opposite sex to get some gender appropriate items and maybe stock up a bit on the basics like diapers and wipes. Even still, a new baby is always exciting and there are likely close friends and family who would buy you gifts anyway, so I don't think a sprinkle is entirely uncalled for! Congratulations!

My sister had a sprinkle and it was just close family members - myself, my mom, her mother-in-law, etc. Anything more is probably a bit tacky maybe?

My daughter turned 7 and we are having a shower. We didnt plan on anymore so we didn't keep anything. I dont see anything wrong with people brungs loads of diapers and wipes and other essentials.
