3 weeks clear blue, 5 week? bleeding?

Question

Had really bad cramps, says 3 weeks on clear blue but I've heard it means 5 weeks.. Why is this?!

Plus I have had some bleeding, went to the doctors midwife won't see me till 8 weeks.
Went to a clinic told me to go to A&E..
However the bleeding has stopped and it just cramps at the moment.

Your gestational age is 3 weeks but they date your pregnancy by the last period you had. So for 2 Weeks your really not pregnant. Week one is ovulation, 2 is conception, 3 is implantation, 4 it is a ball of cells called a blastocyst. Week five is generally when the baby turns into a fetal pole. If it gets any heavier and your cramping becomes persistent I would go to the ER to check.if you are miscarrying. They won't be able to stop it, but they would be able to tell you that this is what's happening.
