Did you tear giving birth?

Tearing is one of my BIGGEST fears in giving birth!
Did you tear giving birth, did you opt for an episiotomy, or were you blessed with stretchy skin??

I took evening primrose oil and gave myself perineal massage for two weeks leading up to birth and didn't tear! I recommend trying it

While giving birth (if you don't have an epidural) you will have a "ring of fire" or burning sensation while pushing. This is the time to STOP pushing and breath this letting the gravity, contractions, and baby's head to slowly stretch you.

I had an episiotomy but tore past it. 4th degree with my first, 2nd with my 2nd.

I was terrified too, and I had a second degree tear...honestly, I didn't notice the stitches unless I flopped down on the couch really hard or something. It healed up very quickly.

I got an episiotomy the first time (SC), second time the doctor told me they don't do those(VA). My husband and I were pissed, he kept telling the doctor I had one before and dang was little man's head so freaking big!! I ended up tearing bad 😣😭😭

I tore on the inside of my vagina, but not much only needed two stitches

I did and I didn't have an meds and epidural didn't work so i felt when they stitched me up.. Horrible! I didn't have any issues after with being sore though.. I mean nomore than you'd expect from pushing out a baby

I tore in a zigzag pattern but I don't really know the degree... (I was too concentrated on my new baby to hear what my doc was saying lol) 
The first week was rough, but I did it to myself. When others say take it easy and let other people do things for you... take it easy and let others help you lol.

My advice if you tear: 
- have your nurse show you how to do sitz baths and DO THEM!!!! And take all of the stuff they give you for the sitz bath (I had the little toilet tub thing, a baggy with a hose thing, and some surgical soap) I neglected my sitz baths and.... my stitches dried up on day 4 (I think it was) and it hurt so bad!!! It was a constant tugging in that area for a whole day... so.... Sitz Baths!!!

- Use warm water in your peri bottle and spray as you pee so your urine doesn't burn your stitched up area.

Those are the only two things I can think of right now.... but if I think of anything else, I'll add it. :)

I didn't tear, just got a minor abrasion. It's probably because I was pushing on all fours or squatting, and when I started crowning I stopped pushing and let her come out more slowly.
