Does inducing labor hurt ?

Question

As much as I don't want to induce labor it seems like we may have to go that route. I'm 40 weeks and 3 days and I have an appt with my doctor in two days where he will schedule induction if baby doesn't arrive yet. 
I'm sooooo over being pregnant and my job begins taking out my maternity days since I'm not going to work plus baby isn't here yet. Frustrating 😤
So back to my question, is it painful when docs induce labor ?

I was induced with my first and slept through most of my labor process.. Didn't hurt bad enough to me as I had no epidural or anything.. I guess I just have a high tolerance for pain .. Everyone is different though

I am being induced next week (if I don't go on my own before) I'm at a 4, so they're going to break my waters and see if I contract from that, as well as give me the strange gel for helping dilation. They'll only do pictocin if I don't go myself, and even then, upon my request they're starting with a SUPER low amount since I take to meds so well. My doctor predicts that I'll have my baby before noon, and my induction starts at 4am.

I had 3 spontaneous births and just had my fourth by induction last week and I will say for me it was worse than going in on my own. I didn't need much pitocin considering I was induced at 37 weeks, but there was no time to gradually get accustomed to the contractions. Plus I had two epidurals both didn't work so being confined to my bed on my back really didn't help much.

My induction was 4 days not even 2 dilated followed by fetal distress and an emergency c section. Yes once pains started they were severe as you kind of miss the gentle warm up stage being induced. Everyone is different though

The contractions brought on by medicine are far more stronger and longer than "normal" contractions. They may hurt more because your body isn't producing them naturally rather they are being forced on you. Plus is puts strain on baby because baby has no idea what's going on.

Yes to me it does. I had normal contractions up to five and had to be induced... I cried

An induced labour is definitely worse, or so I'm told. The induction it's self isn't painful, but the contractions it brings on are longer and stronger than those from natural labour.
