What would you do if your significant other wouldn't compromise on a baby name? He seems to think our son is being named after him...Bobby 😐 yuck. And this is our second son and he pretty much chose our first sons name. He seems to think everything is his way or the highway. He's never been very good to me and has made me feel pretty lonely this whole pregnancy so there's no way I'm naming our son after him. He makes everything so difficult...I don't even know what to do or what to name the baby 😕

My ex husband named my first son, I got to name the second. But I already had/have decided that if I'm ever with a guy and happen to get pregnant AND he thinks he's going to pick some bogus terrible name... I'm just going to announce that a guy I used to date was named that and politely let him know that I do not want my babies named after exes 😂

That sounds awful. I'm shocked at the negative stories I hear on this app. People in relationships need to compromise, trust each other, and listen to each other. You made this baby together, decide on a name together. Honestly he's just being a selfish, immature asshole.

I know people won't agree with me here. BUT if you're doing all the work growing that kid, then pushing it out, and I'm going to assume you'll be doing most of the raising when he's out... Then YOU get the fun of choosing the name. I'd flat tell him it's not going to be a Jr. and he can get on board in finding a compromise or you'll choose the name on your own. (And then make sure EVERYONE knows your wishes including hospital staff.)  If your husband doesn't want to be mature and work this out like an adult then why should you back down?

I'd have him escorted out after the baby popped out, then tell the nurse the name you pick and he'll have to deal with it.

How about letting your boyfriend choose a middle name and you can pick the first name? That way he won't feel so left out.

Well, with our first, I mainly choose a name. Then when she was born, he whispered to me, she doesn't look like an Ann Marie. So, we had to choose a whole new name and I choose the middle name and we agreed on the first name. With the second we couldn't decide lol. I loved Adalynne and he liked Marie and I said Marie sounds better as a middle name so then he said what about Madeline and I said okay, but I choose to spell it Madalynne. I just don't like that we did double M
