Weight limit on lifting?

Question

I'm a nanny for two little girls. They are both around 35-40 pounds. I'm currently about 6-7 weeks pregnant & was wondering if there's a weight limit on lifting children? I'm not talking about picking them up to put them on my hip it's more like lifting them up so they can see inside the high pantry shelves and things like that. I am taking it safe and not lifting them high (plus my back aches due to being pregnant).

I don't think lifting should be an issue. I'm a nurse and we regularly lift people as much as 600+ pounds. Although this is my first pregnancy, most of the women are my floor are older and stayed working throughout their entire pregnancies without issue.

I work at Lowe's as a Stocker (that junk can get heavy!). I asked my doctor and she said nothing over 30lbs.  Yay!  No more 5-gallon paint buckets for me!!

My doctor told me I wasnt allowed to lift anything over 25 pounds.

I had two placental abruptions due to lifting too much so I would definitely be careful

Depends on the person, so best to talk to your Doctor. My Doctor said as long as I was doing it before I became pregnant I can continue doing it. Like for me I do a lot of weightlifting in the gym and my Doctor thinks that is great and want me to keep it up because it will help when it comes time to deliver the baby, however she said to not increase my weights anymore.
