She didn't know she was pregnant

Ok... so I have seen the tv show "I didn't know I was pregnant" and on the radio this woman told her story that she didn't know she was pregnant until she had really bad cramps and then she gave birth of a healthy baby boy! She said she never had any symptoms! I was always curious how can you not know! Is this true? Or could she been in denial the whole time?
