Ready for babies?

How did you know you were ready to have a family? I am engaged, own my house with my partner and we both are hard working. He races motorbikes which costs a lot. I dont have any hobbies or go out drinking or anything like that so I don't feel like id be missing out on anything. I've also travelled heaps so no desire there anymore. Partner says he would be happy if I got pregnant but is also in no rush... like if I got pregnant in 5 years he would still be happy. But I'm like I want it right now! Any advise or comments? Thanks.
