You can mourn for all of the victims and family members of victims of this national tragedy while simultaneously being outraged about centuries of racial oppression in America.

The two things are not mutually exclusive.

9/11 affected all Americans - white, black, Christian, Muslim, Jewish, young, old, businessmen, firefighters, civil servents, women, men, the list goes on and on. It will always be a grave day in our nation's history, and we will never forget.

Our nation's history of racial oppression isn't any less of a memory in our minds than 9/11, and you can continue to recognize both tragedies without acting as though one is more or less significant than the other. I empathize with her but think that her post lacks sensitivity to the collective hurt we all, as Americans living together in a united nation, felt on 9/11 and are reminded of each year.

I can't believe so many stupid people still exist on this earth.  The girl isn't saying 9/11 is a white person thing.  She's saying the majority of America (white people)  always want us  minority Americans to never forget 9/11 ..  the holocaust, Pearl Harbor basically events like that also .. but as soon as black people won't to discuss slavery we're suppose to "get over it".   When it's pretty much  300 years  of American history.
