FTM here! Ive heard about this and i just dont know what kind of procedure is this? Whats going on? When do you get one?

Answer

It's when your doctor or midwife uses their finger to separate the bag of water from the uterus. You can get it done when you're 39+ weeks along to hopefully stimulate labor. Some doctors will do it before, but I think it's a case by case basis, because I know some doctors won't do it at all at any point.
