post about babies born with special needs??

Question

Anyone want to talk about special needs their children were born with?? I have yet to see a post about it and I know it's hard sometimes on mommies!!! If there's anyone out there who would like to take a load off !! Here you go!!

My little sister was born with Down Syndrome she is now 12 years old. My mom also had a sister born with Down Syndrome. I was asked to be tested for My child coming with Down syndrome and I declined. My baby is my baby no matter what!! I know there's a lot of women here who are afraid of their child coming with some type of special needs!! I just would like to say how beautiful these children are and how they become amazing people. Everyone has different views on the matter but this post is for the ones who love their children and are battling a special needs with their child no matter what it isZ

I'm a FTM and I was actually curious on the matter of special needs and children so I'll be following this. (Like did you know instantly, how was it diagnosed, can you even predict this, how likely is it, etc.) I know for my brother, he was about 4-6 years old and they determined he was in need of extra assistance. I was declared part time mainly due to my brother being special needs. My being part time actually ticked off my mom because she didn't believe I needed it (I really shouldn't have been placed or considered but me being placed in it caused so much problems with my classes since they took me out during the main subjects specifically English. So I did become "behind" from the fact they took me out of classes I really should have stayed in.)

Yea I haven't seen any posts about special needs babies. But maybe they need more attending to that the parents don't get a chance to write about their experience? Not to sure.
