cover and pre fold difference between ?

So, I'm seeing different things about people only having like 5 covers and like 25 profiles but some people have 99 diapers...I know there's all in ones; pocket etc... Help with clarified difference?

Answer

A prefold looks a lot like a burp cloth. The cover is what goes over it to make the diaper not soak through onto baby's clothes. You can reuse covers as long as they don't get poop on them, so you don't need as many covers as prefolds. I highly recommend you go to fluffloveuniversity.com. They have a 20-ish minute video that explains ALL the different kinds of diapers and the pros/cons of each. I was soooo overwhelmed before I found that video and couldn't figure out what kind of diaper I wanted. After watching it, I had a much better handle on things! FYI: I've been cloth diapering my guy with prefolds and covers for 10.5 months.

So with prefolds, you can usually reuse the cover without needing to wash it because everything was absorbed by the pretold.
Pocket diapers are a one shot, as are AIO's.
Pocket sounds just like the name, there is a pocket for inserting a pad for absorption.
With AIO's it's like a disposable that you wash after every use.
