Late period...negative test 😬 can I still be pregnant??

So, I was 4 days late and I seriously thought I was pregnant. Yesterday afternoon I started spotting a light pinkish color. Nothing on the pad, just when I would go to the bathroom and wiped myself the paper would be pinkish. So I wanted to test early in the morning to make sure I wasnt pregnant because Ive been feeling nauseous lately. So this morning I feel like my period came but its not as heavy. The color is definitely a bright red but not as a constant flow. So I take the test and it reads " not pregnant". Im always like regular on my periods but has this ever happened to anyone? Like you feel your probably pregnant and your body and mind are playing games with you? And is there still a possibility I could still be pregnant? Thx ladies!
