what do I do to prevent lice?

So a coworker of mine has lice and I work directly with her. What are the chances that I have lice? I'm buying lice shampoo tonight and washing my hair with it so hard but what else can I do? What do I do if I have it like how do I treat it? Will I have to see a doctor?

Headlice treatment from the pharmacy and healdice repellent and/ or tea tree shampoo to prevent catching them again. I'd also pull the  Person to the side and tell them they have headlice and they need to do something about it because you don't want them. It's the best thing to do.

Wash with coco it shampoo and conditioner, hair spray the crap out of your hair, keep your hair up in buns or tight braids

If you have curly hair don't do anything to it! They generally don't go for people with curly hair.

Don't share brushes or put your head near hers. They don't jump like fleas. You'll be fine. The shampoos are the worst. They just make the lice more hardy and difficult to get rid of.
Oiling and combing with a bit comb is the best way to get rid of them.

They make live preventative shampoo but I'm not sure how effective it is.
