whooping cough vaccine

Hi, did any of you ask your family members to get a whooping cough vaccine before your baby arrived? My husband and I plan on doing so but my family doesn't believe in vaccinations and I don't know what to do. I want what's best for my baby and I know they would never get the shot and I don't know how to tell them I want them to have it before seeing my baby. did someone else have a similar experience? :(
