cramping? spotting?

I am 16 weeks and 5 days and yesterday I had some bad cramping all day long. Chalked it up to growing pains and I just relaxed all day. Then last night I couldn't sleep no matter which position etc the cramping is at my pubic line mostly in the middle of my abdomen but a bit on the sides. I feel the rlp on the sides from time to time but not like these cramps. Then around 4 am I used the bathroom and there was a lot of discharge and a lot of red mixed in with it. I had that previously and when I spoke to dr he said sometimes spotting happens. I saw the dr on Tuesday and I was fine meaning there was a heart beat on the Doppler and they checked my urine but that was all the appoitment was. So should I be concerned? I had 2 losses since January this year so I panic but I really feel like I'm going to start my period any second!
