Friday Baby Shower?

In love with the date 11/11 for our baby shower, which falls on a friday this year.

I'm a big numbers person, and no other date I could pick for my shower seems right!!!

I'm not having a traditional shower; I am hosting a co-ed cocktail style party with beer, wine, and pretty mixed beverages--with a hot cocoa bar and apple cider fountain for people who wish not to drink, including my husband, and myself--and a menu of appetizers + a main dish. Does this make it okay to have my event on a Friday instead of a traditional saturday or sunday?
