How bad does sex hurt the first time?

I'm 17 and I feel like I'm ready to lose my virginity. I'm mainly just worried about the pain, especially after hearing so many stories from my friends and their personal experiences. So, is it as bad as everyone makes it out to be or am I just overthinking it?

It's mostly just uncomfortable. It depends on the size of you and the size of the guy. It hurts bad at first but eventually it gets better. May take a few times though.

It's different for everyone, but there are things you can do help lower the chances of experiencing pain. You gotta do a lot of foreplay, and if you have trouble getting aroused you can use lube (don't use oil based lube if you use condoms, it can erode the material). My first time was super painful because it was with someone who didn't do foreplay. But making sure you are aroused enough can make things way more comfortable for you.

Use lube and take it slow. Communicate!!!! Try to relax - my legs were stiff bc I wasn't relaxed and this just caused discomfort. Maybe use a cibrator on your clit? That helped me a lot!

It hurt for me but It wasn't too unbearable. I have a friend that said it didn't hurt for her at all. It just depends on you and your body. Making sure you are completely comfortable with the person and the situation will help relax you and make it somewhat easier.

My first time didn't hurt. The best way I can describe it is that it just felt like pressure. And that only lasted about 30 seconds while he was getting it in. If you're not wet enough and/or he just rams it in, it's probably gonna hurt. Just make sure you go slow and I suggest starting in missionary so it's easier for him to go in. We tried me on top first and it wasn't comfortable.

Im 19 & lost mine a little more than a month ago & honestly it didnt hurt... I was on top (which is supposed to hurt more) & i got the tip in which pain level was a 3-4/10 i couldnt lower myself onto him any more so he just said relax & i took & deep breath & he started thrusting.. It does hurt the first time. But it doesn't hurt for very long. Or at least it shouldn't. It's just getting it in that hurts. Once you actually start moving and stuff the pain goes away. I think it's just the stretching of the opening of your vagina that hurts but I'm not sure. For me it was fairly painful so I had to ask him to stop moving for a minute but once you get past that first minute of pain it's completely painless.
