Am I the only that's TERRIFIED of giving birth?!!! This will be my first child I'm due in March and scared shitless!!!! I've watched YouTube videos of vaginal birthing and if you don't stretch far enough they CUT you?! With SCISSORS !! *faints* I'm not trying to be immature I'm just scared just like a 60 year old would be scared to go bungee jumping. Just human nature of feelings. I'm 20 will be 21 anyone that experienced being terrified but when they gave birth the experience they thought childbirth was is the totally opposite or was it what you were terrified of?

The only thing that was overwhelming was how painful the contractions were. And then I tensed up and fought the pain and it made it even worse. Pushing wasn't bad, it was uncomfortable but manageable. I had a 2nd degree tear but had no idea I ripped and didn't even feel myself getting stitches. It all goes by so fast and you're so caught up in the moment I promise it's not as bad as it seems. And then you get to hold that little baby you've worked so hard to make 😊

Get an epidural! I was young when I had my 1st, & I was also terrified. After the epidural, I would watch the monitor & say "heyyyy... There is another contraction!" - didn't feel them & was chillin' on the phone! I only pushed for 30 mins. It really will be okay, & remember 2 things... 1) women have always given birth, for many many years with no pain meds and 2) most women choose to have more after going through it. 
Also, take a class so you know what to expect. Less scary if you know what is normal. Good luck!

You're watching the wrong videos. Look up water births. And they actually are not doing as much cutting anymore because its mostly unnecessary....even if you do rip a little its better than a cut.. I know sometimes when we get in moods we try to fuel our feelings. Just relax and take measures to ensure you're calm. Make some birth affirmations. Look up POSITIVE stuff!

I'm 22 years old and a FTM. I'm on the same boat and due in two weeks. I will be scared shitless when I actually have to deliver but I'm sure I'll live.

Don't panic!! I was scared too, but honestly kept telling myself that I was going to get the best gift afterwards and labor doesn't last forever. It was nothing like I thought it would be. I didn't really even think I was in labor because my contractions weren't as bad as I was expecting and once I got the epidural, I didn't feel much. I know I'm a lucky one with how fairly easy my labor and delivery was, but it all goes so fast. My LO is 2 months and I love telling the story of when he was born and it seems like a million years ago already.

Oh Jeez! WHY WOULD YOU WATCH VIDEOS?? I saw a video once in grade 12 in biology class and I never want to see that again. Yes, creating a child is a miraculous and amazing thing but the process of childbirth is messy and painful and risk-ridden no matter how natural of a process it is.
Just try and stay calm and accept that your body knows what it is doing - At least that is what my doctor tells me haha. Anxiety just makes things worse, accepting that the medical experts around you know what they are doing and want the best for you and baby and trust your instincts. Staying calm is key.

I was the same way, but the best advice I can give is to read Ina May Guide to Childbirth! It's filled with so many positive birth stories and explains everything birth related! It really helped to take away the anxiety!
