If you were PAST 40 weeks when you got a sweep, did it work?

I'll be getting one tomorrow at 40w6d and my midwife said that she has only had them be successful when the women were overdue and I'm curious to see what the pattern is.

My mom was born at 10 months. She is perfectly normal. A little obnoxious but that's a whole different story 😂😂😂😂

Did she check your Bishop score? The more ready your cervix is, the more likely the sweep is to work. I'd also discuss what they'd do if your water broke after the sweep, but labor doesn't progress. It puts you on a clock, and I don't know your comfort level with that.

If I was 40 weeks and 6 days id be pissed. Why don't they just induce you?? 
Are choosing not to do so?
