are any other pregnant moms scared about mosquito bites?

Im from Hayward CA (Bay Area) and I can't get over this whole Zika thing. It freaks me out!! During my first trimester I got bit up a lot on a hike which made me pretty nervous but I eventually got over it. But now that I am more conscious I ended up getting bitten inside my own home!! Anyone know of anything or have gotten bitten while pregnant and can give some advice to calm my anxiety down?

Hi! I live in Fremont CA and I have worried about this too. Fortunately  the virus is no where close to the Bay Area and mosquito season is almost over.

I'm not phased by it at all, I live in Missouri and we have TONS or mosquitos, I probably have like 5 bites on my legs right now...it's hard to avoid since the bite right through clothing lol. I would try to relax (easier said than done I know) but I've read so much about Zika and it's not as much of a threat as people make it out to be

Nope. I've read enough studies and articles where Brazil is admitting that the microcephaly may be caused by a pesticide they contracted through Japan rather than Zika. Think about Zika has been around for years without any links to microcephaly until  now, this pesticide is relatively new and was distributed in Brazil, Argentina, and other Southern counties. This pesticide has also been proven to retard the development of masquito larvae. At first I was afraid as I live on Southern California and have a built in pool but after tons of research I don't even think it's an issue.

I live in Florida. And I have been bit a couple times. My doctor says if I start showing symptoms at all to call. But impossible so avoid them completely. So hard. Just breathe. I got bit in my office at work, outside, those little suckers will find you regardless.  Bit through my pants with bug spray on. Little stinkers.

I've avoided them all summer and this past Saturday I got 3! I was so mad! I just try to keep calm since reports have stayed consistent with the south. I'll let my dr know at next visit and see what she says.

I'm in Florida where it's a "main concern" and nobody is really all that concerned. Unless you're an old crazy person because this is where all the old people come, lol.
