Can I ask my midwife to do a membrane sweep?

Im 38 weeks 3 days with my 3rd. My last child came two days after his due date but he pooped while inside. In worried this will happen again. It was a scary experience. What determines when you can have your membranes swept?

You can ask - worst case scenario they say no...

You have to be dialated 1 or 2 cm to even do it, so thats a factor. I doubt they'll do it this early though.

My Dr is gonna strip my membranes at 36w n again at 38w if it doesn't work the 1st time. Good luck! I'd ask since it definitely could help speed things up
