Maternity leave (EDD)???

Has anyone else dealt with EDD this year (California)? I applied for disability for maternity leave and it's been 15 days and still haven't received word from them.. how long did it take for you to start getting benefits???

I just spoke to someone from the EDD department and the reason why it's been taking so long is because they needed a form from my doctor! That was left blank😡 I'm so frustrated because I went to my doctors office to fill all the paper work so it will be done correctly and they still messed up on it!  So I advice you to call them and see what's the hold up

Your job has to approve it as well, maybe they're holding things up?

I am still waiting to hear from them and I submitted all my paper work on August 30! It's been frustrating😑 I know filling online is a way faster process wish I would of done it that way!

I'm on the same boat. I submitted my claim on 9/1 and still waiting for a response. The online portal says the claim is "pending on medical provider." Idk if the doctor needs to fill something out and send it to EDD or the EDD send the doctor a request for medical records.

I submitted a claim. I have to bring in my confirmation number to my Drs office tomorrow, not sure if that would complete the request but I haven't received anything from them so far...

I went out on leave 3/28 and didn't get my first check for almost 3 weeks. California is so slow at EVERYTHING!!!!

Yea, the process is long. I submitted my claim online on August 30th. My doctor is through kaiser and they  didn't submit their information until the 15th! I'm due in a few days and I haven't received any information. 😢

I live in California took my leave September 6th received my approval letter on the 16th and than just received my card on the 19th. But i didn't get all my money I was suppose too. Not sure what days I get paid or how frequently either. Going to try and call, but I know it takes 14 days from the day you take leave to process.

My last day of work was 9/5 and so my claim was made on 9/6. Kaiser submitted their end of the paperwork pretty soon after and I've been getting regular correspondence from EDD via their online portal, plus some mail. Are you getting anything at all?? I assume you have an online claim set up?
My only gripe is the fact that I'm missing some $$- I received the debit card with only 2 days of pay vs a week. Grr
