What birth control is better the depo (shot) or the pill? I'm getting on it now because my boyfriend and I have been very sexually active and I want it just in case. We do always use protection but you know it's always good to be on it.

I have never been on the pill but I have had the depo shot and it was the worst experience ever! But now I'm on the implant and you literally don't have to worry about it for three years! I think it's typical to have some difference in your period with any hormonal contraception. So I do have an elongated period and some mood swings but yeah I love it more than the shot

That's a question you'll have to answer. What does your insurance cover or what can you afford? Will you remember to take a pill every day or would you prefer to just get the shot every three months and be done? Are you okay with the possibility of your body not reacting well to hormones that are injected into your body that can't be taken out? How are you with needles? lol
