I'm 20 years old and I want to do something nice for my boyfriends 21st but the event starts at fucking 10:30 pm and my parents don't want me out that late because I'll be coming home at 2 am.

IM TWENTY YEARS OLD AND I DONT THINK I NEED FUCKING RESTRICTION WHEN IM 20 years old. Btw.  I usually never come home past 12.

How the fuck do I talk to my parents into letting me have this one night where I take my boyfriend of three years to an event at 10:30 pm.

Maybe talking to them like the adult you claim to be and not acting like a child. It's disrespectful of you to think that just because you're grown, you should be able to come and go as you please. It is disturbing to others in the household to have people coming in at late hours. If you showed some respect and a little maturity they might make an exception. Or you could move out.

Sit down and talk to them and don't get angry. Explain to them how important this is to you but you have to remember you live under their roof that means you need to follow their rules even if you don't like it. My parents were the same way.

I was in the same position as you. Sit down with your parents and say the facts. Adult to adult say to them, "hey my boyfriend is having his 21st birthday and it is starting at 10:30pm. Now, I know that it is cutting close to curfew, but I want to make sure he gets home safely."

They will definitely like that you sit down and talk to them about this adult to adult.

If they say no, well, it is their house, their rules.

Well, I recommend calming down before you speak to them. Tell them that this would be important for you to attend... How much it would mean to you, and that you would really appreciate it if you could have some extra time.
