Too early to take a pregnancy test?

I know like many of my young friends don't know when it is too early to take a pregnancy test. I am 3 days late. So my question is when is a good time to?

Really? If your period is late, it's not too early. Thought this was common knowledge. Reading the box the test comes in can tell you the answer too.

I was thinking of waiting for a few more days my SO and I want to start a family but I also don't want to jump the gun

I'm having the same problem and I'm going to wait out the week to take the test. But if you wanna take an early test I would suggest first response.
