Upcoming travel & Zika Virus!

My husband and I leave for our honeymoon tomorrow. We are going to Costa Rica for a week to stay at an all inclusive resort. I am 9 weeks and had my first doctors visit on wednesday of this week. Needless to say, my doctor was not happy to hear about our travel plans. I have done a lot of research that is outside of the U.S media and even asked review sites from people who have recently been about the mosquito situation. I have gotten an overwhelming response that it is safe, especially if you stay on the resort. We have nixed our plans to go hiking through the jungles and travel into Nicaragua. We have bought DEET bug spray to bring as well.

I am posting to see if anyone else has recently traveled south of the boarder pregnant and what your thoughts/experiences were.
