unfair treatment of employees
I work as a housekeeper in a nursing home. Sometimes my job consists of resident help as well.
But that's not the issue.
The issue is the lazy co worker, who is a male, who makes $2 more than I do.
Now I understand men make more money BLAH FUCKING BLAH. He doesn't even deserve it because his work ethic consists of sitting on the phone half the day, or he hides out and takes a long time on a task that is simple. When we all know he was just sleeping or on the phone. and I've even been there after hours for overtime and asked him like. "What do you do when everyone leaves" this was before I even knew how much more he was making for the same job. He said "I sit down here in the laundry room, make a couple walks so everyone sees me, and then me and Frank ( a maintenance man) check the building."
Number one maintenance isn't even his job. He was hired as a janitor. Which means he is in charge of floors and trash, and other stuff which we as housekeepers do and he does not. There is stuff he could be doing that he is assigned, (which isn't done.. Entrance ways, floors extra rooms we can't get to when we're on a really short day 1-2 housekeepers. Cottages. Laundry Etc ) and I've even come in after a weekend off where he was on my hall and it wasn't even touched. We even have set traps to see if he even does his work (which they weren't even touched) . He works 10-630 which is the shift after us. Housekeepers work 7-330
It's gotten to the point my boss has blamed me for all the shit that goes wrong, when you can ask anyone there and they will tell
You how much I do. Even including picking up extra work on the second hall. Like doing briefs. And making sure I get the hall done. Like my own. (Which us 3 houskeepers do, me And two other girls ) but my bosses husband always takes the male co worker away when he's the one fully staffed, and they put all the work on the new maintenance man. While they are off talking. (Male co worker)
Point is I'm tired of the abuse from my boss and I would like some advice what to do. I do more than I should and it's gotten to the point the whole housekeeping staff has gotten furious. If we do all his work, what's the sense in having him.
