My son is 5 months and I breastfeed him every 2-3 hours except overnight where it is every 3-4 hours.
For the past 2 weeks it seems like he isn't getting enough so we started offering him an 1-2 ounces of formula when he was still fussy
How many ounces were your babies eating around this age? I just don't want to overfeed or underfeed him

Pumping is not a sufficient way to judge how much milk you produce. They don't empty breasts and aren't as efficient as baby. I would look around and see if your area/hospitals have a breastfeeding support group. They are usually ran by LC. Even my small town has one, you just have to find them. Baby could be going through a growth spurt or cluster feeding. You can also go to the doctor, weigh him and then feed him and then weigh him immediately after and that will give you an idea of how much he's eating. How long is he nursing? One breast or both?

Are you breastfeeding him then giving him the formula if he still seems hungry? 
In my opinion I would cut out the formula and if he seems fussy, offer the breast again. It's a lot easier to over feed with a bottle than with the breast and eating too much can make him fussy.
