how many ultrasounds?

Just wondering how many ultrasounds women get for a normal, healthy pregnancy. I'm 31 weeks and haven't had one since my 20 week appointment. My doctor told me it wasn't medically necessary for me to get one and that insurance companies don't cover extra ones just for the sake of getting one. I just wanted to know everyone's experiences! Thank you!

I was surprised today at my 32 week appt that the dr did a quick ultrasound to confirm baby's position. I didn't turn it down but I also didn't really get to see anything interesting and now I'm a little scared of the bill! My new insurance is awful.

Most insurance companies only cover 2-3 ultrasounds. I'm getting 3, but I've had 3 already because I ended up in the ER at 13 weeks and they wanted to check on baby. So I'll end this pregnancy with 4.

Same here! Insurance doesn't cover anymore unless medically necessary. I got one at 7 weeks and 19 weeks.

I've had bout four so far this pregnancy because I'm high risk. With my son 3 years ago I only had two , can't remember with my daughter probably two as well . I have one before I give birth this time .
