Curious about VBAC

So I had a C-Section with my 1st because he was breeched, my doctor said it was likely id be having a c section for my next too and the recovery was a mess, but not as bad as some of the stories I've heard. It was nearly a month or so until I could even move around my house fairly. I would love to have a second child, but I really want to have it vaginally. I'm so scared that if my doctor says I'm a good candidate that I'll still rupture or something. Any thoughts or opinions on it would be appreciated.
