Ok ladies,just wanted ur opinion about this.what ll you do if you go into labour and there is no one around you and you drive,ll you be bold enough to pick your hospital bag and drive ur self down to the hospital?or ll u call 999?has anyone done this before and do you think it's risky plz?

I would never ring an ambulance. That could potentially affect someone's life that is in desperate need for one. Being in labour is not an emergency. Call a taxi or ask a neighbour but please don't waste emergency services when the nhs is already not funding enough ambulances.

You should contact the hospital and they will advise you what to do based on your symptoms possible contractions etc. Probably better to take a taxi than drive yourself there. I wouldn't call 999 unless it's an emergency and something is going wrong ❤️

I did have to drive myself to the hospital with my first. It was not the greatest thing ever but manageable. This time around there is a possibility I will have to drive myself but luckily we are good friends with our neighbors so if my husband is at work (he works an hour away) I can always see if they are home to take me. I also plan to have a few other friends on call just in case. I would really hope not to drive myself  again but because I did it last time im not to worried about having to do it this time.

Do not call an ambulance unless there is an emergency. I.e haemorrhaging or something.

My water broke at work.. I'm a nanny so I had to wait for someone to come home so I could leave. Then I drove myself home to pick up my husband and my hospital bag and say bye to my puppy.. then my husband drove us to the hospital.. labor normally isn't a quick process so if your calm enough just drive your self

I'm in a weird situation and live separately from my partner right now, so we are about 30-45 minutes away from each other with no traffic. We don't have a car because he totaled mine (which is why we live apart, it'd easier for him to get rides living at his mom's). I should have a car to use come labor and the plan is for me to drive to my mother in law's at the first sign of labor and then my partner will take us the rest of the way to the birth center when the time comes. I can't call 911 for an ambulance because they won't take me to the birth center, only to a hospital. :/

I'd ask a neighbor or pay for a taxi before trying to drive myself. No hospital will recommend you driving while in labour!
