Last night my husband and I attended our first class to become certified foster parents. Becoming a foster parent was never on my list of life goals, but infertility wasn't a life goal either. We have tried for years to conceive without success, and figure we can still offer safely and stability in our home to kids who have experienced trauma.

I didn't realize how much of a need there was in our area, until numbers were shared during class. There is still a bit to go through before we are certified, but it will be a valuable experience.
