Non stress test

So my insurance sent me a letter saying they approved this to be done. My doctor had never mentioned it. I'm 36 weeks and she just measures my belly,  checks BP, and listens to the heartbeat for a few seconds and that's it at every appt. Will I be getting a test done later? Or do you think she just sent that in to my insurance in case I end up needing one done?
