I know the feeling. My last pregnancy I told a few people, Inc a few family members. The next week I found out the pregnancy wasn't viable. 
It wasn't the worst thing to have to tell those who knew, because they were supportive, but I was glad I hadn't broadcasted.

Wait until you have a scan. Once you know everything is good then it's safer to share your exciting news.

I had a few people who knew at 4 weeks but then I lost it at 5 weeks so I will be waiting until 2nd trimester next time

Im not making a social media announcement, but Im 17weeks now and just starting to tell people around me.

I kind of wish I had waited longer lol it was a nice little secret to have 😉 But I will definitely not be telling anyone the gender.

I told my husband and mom as soon as I got the BFP. We told his parents and our siblings after I got the confirmation from my OB at 8weeks. Everyone else found out when I was 14weeks.

My mom knew the second I got a clear bfp lol.   I told my husband the night I got the bfp as well.   We waited to tell other family members until after first scan.  Then we told family members and close friends.  Made a social media announcement after the second scan which was a few days under 12 weeks.  It's your decision, do what makes you feel comfortable and don't let anyone try to tell you different.

I announced it at 6 weeks which I found out I had a miscarriage at 12 weeks. Apart of me wishes I would have waited, but I had needed the support I received after I lost my baby. If I can ever get pregnant again, I plan on announcing it within days of finding out. I've had bad luck carring, so I want to make sure my baby is celebrated as much as possible just in case something happens again.

Announce when YOU are comfortable. We announced at 6 weeks & would never regret it even if something happens. I read an article today actually on "why I announced before 13weeks" you should see if you can find it. It's amazing to spread happiness, but if something were to happen & you're not okay with people feeling bad then I would wait. But like I said it's all up to you, not statistics, not your mom.. you & your SO 💕
