Baby Shower vs "Sip&See"

So, my husband and I decided against a baby shower.. (so many reasons) our anniversary is coming up and we'me celebrating with a mini vacay... also, our other 2 kids birthdays are Dec17 and Dec22 and they wanted to have a nice family birthday trip, seeing it'll be the last Birthday they have before having to share with a third sibling. I'm due with baby#3 Dec30!

So, we're planning to have a "Sip&See" party after baby is born. It'll be much like a baby shower, except baby will be present for the party, and everyone will be and to meet baby also.

Although I'm excited about it, I'm a bit hesitant thinking of so many people wanting to hold/kiss my baby so young. I want to have the party at least 8weeks after baby is born.

Has anyone had a "sip&see"? What are your thoughts?
